Technology Used

Our various systems are designed using a range of technologies and can provide you with desktop & web based database applications.

We specialise in the use of Microsoft technologies, utilizing languages and applications which work closely with MS Office Components including:

  • Visual Basic
  • VBA
  • SQL Server
  • mySQL
  • Flash
  • Sharepoint
  • Macromedia Director
  • Activex

Working with you, we'll choose the platform to match your requirements, both for now and in the future.

By helping you to control and manage cash flows, delivery times, client information, mail shots, etc your customised system can be a powerful tool.

Importing Of Existing Data

We can upgrade your existing system including full conversion of already inputted data – including

  • SQL Server,
  • Paradox, CSV,
  • Excel spreadsheets,
  • Access databases,
  • text files
  • and even suitable word documents.

Security

It is often necessary to restrict access to specific areas (eg Cash Flow reports, Personnel Bank Details, etc).  where necessary, we can incorporate the appropriate level of security into any system and restrict unauthorised access..

The Importance of User-Friendly Interfaces

We have a great deal of experience in designing and programming databases that offer users highly interactive front ends (as per the sample opposite):

Reports

Ultimately users collect data because they want to interrogate and report on that data à that is, they want to turn the data into information

The reports included opposite and below provide high level information and incorporates a chart to assist users with the analysis.

Throughout the development process, we ensure that the system is structured to ensure the production of reports is possible, and data can be thoroughly interrogated.

For those reports that are run on a regular basis, a front-end will be created that will allow users to provide parameters (eg date ranges) easily and at the click of a mouse button.  Through training sessions , advanced users will be taught how to create their own ad-hoc queries à this is essential to facilitate independence from the developers.
